During this new three-week online course, participants will learn about the grant application process, how to manage the overall life cycle, and we will explore specific types of grants suitable for cut flower farmers. These sessions are held virtually via Zoom to eliminate travel and financial constraints.
Miranda is the founding co-owner of Urban Buds, established in 2012. Together, she and Mimo Davis grow 70 different varietals of cut flowers annually on their one-acre flower farm in south St. Louis city and sell at Tower Grove Farmers’ Market, direct to florists, and design for wedding and events. In addition to farming, Miranda is a Cooperative Extension agriculture educator for Lincoln University of Missouri. In that role, she reviews grants for the North Central Region (NCR) SARE program and serves on the Farm Service Agency Urban County Committee. She holds a BA from The Evergreen State College (2003) and is originally from rural Sun Prairie, Wisconsin.

The Association of Specialty Cut Flower Growers is pleased to announce a four-day educational intensive called Digging Deep: Topics in Cut Flower Farming. This intensive features four 90-minute, Zoom-based presentations given by experts in farming, floral design, and agricultural law. Registrants can attend the virtual live events, have the opportunity to participate in Q and A sessions, and will receive access to the webinar recordings after the events for the duration of 2023.
